Terms of use and refunds

1. The simulator

1in8b is free from start to finish. The lives are fiction built on real statistics; they are not predictions about anyone and not medical, legal or financial advice. Following real statistics, death, illness, war and poverty happen in the game; they are never shown in detail. It is made for ages 15 and up. 1in8b (1in8b.app) is an independent project, not affiliated with 1in8b.life.

2. The Keepsake

The Keepsake is a one-time purchase of digital content made from the lives you play: high-resolution birth and life cards, a life report (PDF) and a life record book. The content is generated on your device. Paying never changes a life in the simulation.

3. Immediate delivery

Before paying you are asked to agree that the Keepsake is delivered immediately and that, once delivery starts, you lose the right to cancel the purchase without a reason. We record the time you agreed.

4. Refunds

Within 14 days of payment we refund in full when the service is at fault: the pass was not delivered, the Keepsake cannot be unlocked or generated and we cannot fix it within 3 working days, or the content is materially different from its description. If the same email address is charged twice for the same product, the extra charge is refunded even after 14 days. We do not refund a change of mind once the Keepsake is unlocked and working, or dissatisfaction with how a simulated life turned out. Unauthorized payments follow the payment provider’s dispute process. Write to support@1in8b.app. Your statutory rights where you live are not affected.
